Oh my goodness Gerry and Penny have been going crazy for over an hour now. He's chasing her, desperately trying to mount her, she's shrieking at him and keeps pecking at him, he runs off chattering his teeth then comes back and trys again.
They had been like this to start with but each time it got shorter and shorter but they've suddenly gone mad!
I took her out for a cuddle to give her a break and she just wanted to go back in.
I took him out and he's clearly really tired he keep lying down flat out on me but his heart was pounding so fast and he just couldn't settle he's got so wound up.
I've taken the box out as she kept getting trapped in there but I'm not sure what to do now.
I'm hoping he's going to be so worn out soon he has a nap and calms down, he keeps having a lie down between each try!
 
Thank goodness, all pigs asleep, calm has been restored.
I hope this was a one off I'm not sure my heart can cope with it, or Gerry's!
I know they've got to go through it but that went on a bit too long for my liking.
I just worry that he's twice the size of her and almost twice her weight, could he hurt her?
I've only experienced boar bonding and they've always been a similar size to each other.

Thankfully Poppy and George have settled down really nicely. I had a lovely cuddle with her this evening but not a long one as George was getting upset he couldn't see her.
 
It may be that she is in season (this happens about once every 16 days and can last 1-2 days) As long as she doesnt seem stressed by the whole thing i wouldnt worry to much. :) However obviously you dont want this to be a perminent thing, so make sure it died down after the 1-2 days.
 
Thanks Connie, she's spayed so won't come into season. Tracy did say the first 48 hours together could be like this so fingers crossed this was the finalie and she's finally put him in his place.
I wasn't sure how often they come into season, Matilda (who lives with a neutered male Hector) must be in season at the moment as it's lively in there as well!
Can you tell male, female pairings are still new to me? :))
I thought boys were bad but they're nothing compared to a mixed pair or have I just been lucky with my boys! :{
 
When I introduced my intact bore to my spayed sow it took about a week for everything to stop... And a few days for it to calm down a bit...
Still happens occasionally but I haven't seen boris get humpy in a while now...
It will quieten down... And she won't get bullied by him... Girls don't half have a good kick on them..!
Just leave them too it... :)

Oh Penny definitely wears the trousers in that relationship, she's already made that clear! :))
She's sprayed him in the face a few times and Poppy's done the same to George only difference is George took the hint! rolleyes
It's so funny watching Spike and Bob next door, they're watching everything going on like they're watching the tennis. :(|)
They're all completely flaked out now.

Pmsl at the idea of spike and bob ping ponging backwards and forwards... :))

Wow,hopefully my turn soon with a wifepig from Tracy for my Bumble, so reading with interest - will be no sleep for me then as Bumble sleeps about 12 " from my head:)):))
 
I was very lucky with my bondings we had no excitement, just goes to show how different they are.

Although sometimes I think Patrick could get in trouble, he's a little aggressive with his mounting, it's more like clinging! @). Pebbles soon gives him into trouble! x

They're both fiesty, dominant characters so it could be just them! I don't remember it being quite as full on with Hector and Matilda and Poppy and George got through it really quickly. George does a little rumble now and again then popcorns off. Poppy is such a happy little thing, she popcorns so much! :))
