They ate the correx!

We had the piggies cousins round for Christmas and we built them a temporary 48 hour C&C cage. I came down Boxing Day morning only to find that the 4 piggies in the one side had eaten the 2mm correx nearly down to the floor in one area! Now we are thinking of moving Fudge and his harem into a C&C cage and giving his cage to my brothers girlfriend who owns the 4 piggies, but after witnessing the destruction 4 mini pigs can do we are now wondering if it would be a good idea. Daisy who lives with Fudge is a nuisance nibbler (her bedding sheets have more holes than a golf course) and we have had to confiscate their new crash pad because Autumn won't stop trying to eat it plus Fudge has a weakness for all things made from trees. Would thicker correx work?

mine nibble the 4mm correx round their kitchen doorway they never used to they cant get to the rest as it's covered with fleece i guess if they tend to do it they won't stop, i think there's a bitter apple spray you could use

bitter spray as said above can be bought in pet stores, when frazzle was biting the bars I used vaseline and it's stopped him. Not sure if that's any help for you might be a bit messy x

Rogue (aptly named, methinks!) chews the correx. I think it is a habit thing with her as even if you distract her with toys/hay/veggies, she goes back to it. I have had to cover the correx with fleece which so far has stopped her in her tracks!

Our boar used to bite the bars when he wanted to go out for a walk; he doesn't do it any more since we started letting him out every time he pokes his nose through the bars. It is good if you let the pig out for a walk more often.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to ask my sisters boyfriend to mold me a base out of plastic as nothing on earth stops a piggy when they have the urge to nibble! Daisy even eats the carpet when she is out of her cage for a run
