Hello!

I thought it was about time to introduce my herd of three spoilt sows on this forum - meet Cappuccino (chief bean), Espresso (shy bean) and Macchiato (sweet bean) in photo order below. And yes, I use an old loaf tin to weigh them in every week 😂 If you hadn't guessed, I do enjoy a good coffee hence the name-spiration for my girls and my original herd of 4 girls who've sadly gone over the rainbow bridge were inspired by biscuits (Caramac, Kitkat, Snowball and Crunchie).

I look forward to seeing everyone's piggy pics and sharing the adventures of my daft bunch too!

Hello and welcome to the forum
Your girls are gorgeous and I love the idea of weighing them in a loaf tin, what a great idea!
I have two pairs, Hector and Kiki and Posh and Ginger

Hope you have lots of fun on here 😊

They are all adorable. Love the Spice Girls! Hector and Kiki look like they have such a close bond, is that common for male and female pair?

Hector and Kiki have a lovely bond.
We got Hector as Posh and Ginger had lost their previous husboar Ted who they adored but they actually didn’t take to Hector at all, I think he fancied himself as a young stud and it didn’t go down very well. So we ended up getting Kiki for Hector, she was only 5 weeks old but they were an instant match which is lovely, although she can put him in his place when she wants to 😆
I think generally sow and boar matches are very stable as long as they actually like each other from the start. I had a boar pair before these four Bill and Ted, they had a wonderful bond and both where daft and very entertaining

They are beautiful! I've only ever owned sows but will definitely keep a neutered boar in mind to add a husboar to the mix in future 😍

The beans were treated to a delivery from Nature's Own yesterday and Macchiato got a bit possessive over the Dandelion and Peppermint hay cookies...she looks like shes going to murder Cino if she runs off with one😂

It's been a long while since I did a Wheaky Beans update. All three girls are a year older, wiser and possibly more rounder! 🤗 It is Cappuccino's 2nd birthday and she'll be celebrating doing what she does best, taking long leisurely naps and trying to hog all the snacks from the other two 🤣

20231118_134502.webpIt's all going on at Wheaky Beans HQ after a blissful, healthy year of no vet visits and now they seem to all want to go at once! Poor Espresso has hurt her eye (possibly on one of her hay burrowing missions) so is now on antibiotic eye drops and painkillers.
Macchiato is on Fibreplex to re-balance her gut then will need to have her ovarian cysts removed in surgery once she is better.
And Cappuccino has now started making odd pain noises occasionally when she bends over to clean herself so may as well take her on one of my many vet trips 😭

Thanks, its been a very long day (especially for Macchiato!) but she's bounced back quick since her surgery this morning and she was accompanied by her two sisters for comfort 🥰 She's been eating everything in sight while sporting two back scars and a fetching bum mullet! Hoping she recovers quickly 🙏🏻

Macchiato has developed a surprise lump on her behind so that's a sample being sent off to the lump lab...when will my million dollar piggy catch a break? Luckily, Espresso and Cappuccino have both remained healthy and only making me spend my hard earned pennies on deluxe fancy unchopped hay!

Macchiato update: Her lump results have been confirmed as chronic active inflammation but with no evidence of cancerous or infectious cells in the sample. My poor baby has been under anaesthesia four times in the last 18 months for various abcess surgeries and a hysterectomy just before Christmas so I'd hate to put her through another one so soon. Think I'm going to monitor the size of it for now and let her live her happy piggy life for a while. Has anyone else had a diagnosis like this?
