You may or may not have seen my last post where I have managed to end up with three very handsome Hogs!

In order to give them the best chance of winning I'm goingnto build them a large C&C house, also meaning it will be easier if it comes to having to separate them eventually.

So I'm thinking if building them a large cage with three loft areas so they can all get away from each other. Enough room for three separate feeding areas etc.

I'm looking for any tips in building it anything I may have forgot.

Also toying with the idea would it be better to have a massive cage in t he spare room or a large cage 5 x 2 maybe 3 down stairs closer to us when we are around.

Not sure I like the idea of having them upstairs away from us. Ideas?

Thanks

C&C cages are great - because , as you have already said, you have the flexibility to change things .

Are you planning to have ladders to the lofts ? I think 3 loft ladders will use up too much space on the ground floor.

Yeah I hadn't really thought about that one but there doesn't really seem to be another option for them to actually get away from each other if they need to. Would I be better with s bigger loft with 2 exits maybe?

I think so - that and a few hideys dotting around

Great idea. We have a c&c gallery here for ideas Member Gallery: C&C cages/homemade cages Your piggies are very lucky to have a such a caring owner. Looking forward to seeing some photos of the boys once settled. What are their names?

Thanks! I've been looking through the gallery getting lots of good ideas

They are still really shy and we have renamed them chewy, ginge the baby is called Doug they're getting a little braver especially the two older boys but still can't hand feed them yet

Will post pictures when they realise I'm jot scary!

And once piggie palace is built!

Hello 3littleguines,

As a proud owner of three naughty, but scrumptiously handsome boars that live together, I would say the answer to it is to have as big a home for them as is possible.

Before my Charlie came along, Elliot and Oscar lived in a commercial plastic cage and bickered quite a bit. They have been in their mahoosive hutch for years now, and barely say a wrong word to one another.

It took some sweat from me to bond all three together, and they had carpet time with Charlie before he moved in with the two boys, but now Charlie is aged two years and four months and apart from the usual disagreement (always over food), they wouldn't be without each other. Often, even when they have the run of the whole flat, they're walking nose to tail like elephants and stick in their threesome!

I have them in the dining room, so I can see what they're up to, and I keep an ear out at night for any scuffles, but it's rare...they just sleep at night!

I'd just advise to go slowly with the introductions and make sure they have three bowls and three water bottles and plenty of toys to keep them busy.

Here's my trio after they'd tipped their bowl up and done lots of poopies over their new fleece!

Would you be be able to send me pictures of your piggy set up?

Mine are nibbling away at their veggies at the moment not seen any squabbling or naughty behaviour this evening Yet... Haha

Hello three little guines, how is your lovely trio of boars?

Sorry it took so long to get back with a picture of my boys' housing arrangement, I don't always have Internet, but here it is;

It's the Pets at Home Bluebell hideaway. I took this picture during cleaning it out, so it looks a little bare, but they have toys and tubes to play in too, stop them getting bored and bickering!

I would love a c&c setup, but we live in a flat and are really pushed for room, so the piggies' home takes pride of place in my dining room lol. Not to everyone's taste to have a huge hutch in their dining area, but it suits us fine!

They have three hidey igloo things in the cage, two on the ground floor and one upstairs in their sleeping quarters. They don't fight over them but it's nice for them to have their 'me' time should they need it, and also three bowls and I do two water bottles upstairs and two downstairs. I used to just do water bottles downstairs in their kitchen area, but it meant them having to go downstairs everytime they were thirsty and at night time they tend to sleep together upstairs most nights. Anything to save their little legs getting tired ha ha ha!

Here it is;

Ooh I added some more words to my post and it's posted twice! Can I get rid of one?

I tried to find a pic of it when it was shiny and new as I know I took one, but can I find it? Can I heck! The piggies love to chew it when their mama pig (me) isn't looking. Don't they have any pride in their home?!?!?! Well....they are stinky boys I suppose!
