I've been ignoring a chronic pain in my foot for over two months now -- I know I'll have to adress it eventually, but for now, going to the doctor, then going for an x-ray, then probably some physical therapy... the simple thought makes me exhausted so I just pretend it'll go away on its own.

But when it comes to the piggies...
Yesterday during floor time, I noticed that one of my girls was limping a bit. Examining her paw today, I noticed swelling on one of her toes.
Already, I've left a message to the vet, ignoring the fact that I hate making phone calls (even for such a simple thing as making an appointment) and am waiting for her to call back.
:roll: Nothing too good for them...
 
It's true.
I often think we take far better care of our piggies than we do of ourselves.

I hope your girl is sorted quickly and you re also able to get some relief from your own foot pain - maybe ask the vet if they can do a '2 for 1' deal :D
 
The goblins get fed better than I do 🤷‍♂️ and I spend more on the heating bills than I would if they weren't here 🤷‍♂️ and I swapped to smoking outdoors specifically so I'd have a smoke-free household when I got adopting guinea pigs again 🤷‍♂️

(they're worth it, though)
 
I drove 20 miles to get hay for the piggies coz DPD failed to deliver. I drove another 18 miles to get feed for the horse coz my local feed store was out of stock. Today I thought I’d treat myself so I bought ….… a carton of soup yay 🎉 I’m definitely on the lowest rung in my household 😂
 
I had a phone call from the Drs saying I needed to book a blood test as they wouldn't issue a repeat prescription next time without checking my blood results. I told her there was no way I had time at the moment to go to the surgery I would ring when I wasn't so busy. I couldn't tell her I was medicating and syringe feeding 4 guinea pigs and by the time I'd done them all I had to start again, them getting their medicine is far more important than mine!

I hope your foot gets better soon @Helen C .

As I suspected, she sprained her toe. It's obviously very painful so she got an anti-inflammatory and orders to move as little as possible (she's quite happy about that one).

Should there be any medication left, I might use it for myself. Or, you know, be a big girl and drag myself to the doctor. :whistle:

Yes, I hear a lot of people with pets saying "I'd cut the heat, if it wasn't for the rabbit/cat/dog/guinea pig."

They're totally worth it. :luv:

OK so I have brought from haybox for there haybive noticed it cold in there room so jow they have central heating I've put it in one to see how hot it is so am testing it at the moment I've heard that if your cold piggies be cold so see how we go
 
Ano. I’ll never forget what the breeder of my first dog said to me - they have no choice. They get whoever picks them, so give them the best life they can have, so they wouldn’t have been any better off with someone else. I remembered that and do my best to deserve all my wee precious creatures.

There’s no one who’s perfect, but we owe them our best xx
