The joy of delivery day! Who doesn’t love a fresh carrot cottage or two!

Delivery day here too, but the piggies will have to wait until Saturday's playpen time because I just cleaned the cages lol :)
I usually let them start the carrot cottage and hay cube destruction in the playpen then take them home to their cage to finish off...

Mine eat a whole one in a fortnight so there are only soggy shreds of pee soaked cardboard left :) The main herd get a carrot cottage and a haycube every month, and Ollie and Tallulah get 2 hay cubes per month because Tallulah is too short and Ollie's back legs are too wonky for them to fully appreciate the joy of the carrot cottage roof!

Are you stockpiling there for Brexit! 😆

That's just for this month! Plus 2 boxes of hay cookies and a bag of pellets :) and 30kg of hay of course, I get really anxious about potential hay shortages...

Oh don’t mention hay shortages....my normal supply ran dry....I used to get bales from a local farm shop but they stopped supplying to the public, so I’m back to buying bagged hay from the local pet shop. No problem with that, quality is always good, it’s just a bit of a pain as I get through so much of it and it is more expensive than the bales, but the local pet shop ran out two days ago and the delivery due today didn’t arrive :yikes:. Expecting temperatures to be just 2 degrees overnight tonight so I have stuffed piggies and buns hutches with what I had left and am now praying their delivery comes in tomorrow....stress inducing...!

I buy hay both from Hax Box and from Amazon, the Pillow Wad hay from Amazon is super soft and comfy for sleeping on and Hay Box is super tasty! Hay Box deliver in 2 days usually and give you a choice to change your delivery day then text you a 1-hour delivery slot on the day, its very good!
Hope the hay delivery comes, hay can be so stressful cant it because they need it so much! X

I ran out today of hay today so could only clean half the hutch. Betsy & Dennis are all nice and clean with fresh hay, forage, veg and a snugglesafe each, Meg and Christian have some fresh hay to snuggle up in, forage, veg and a snugglesafe each. By the time I came back from the farm with a fresh bale, it was too late to clean out M and C so hoping for at least a dry morning tomorrow so I can clean them out. At least I have enough hay for another 3-4 weeks now.

I get a big bale from local farmer, it’s organic and he feeds his animals with it so good quality and only £4, it’s great!

That’s what I used to get but the one local to me don’t sell to the public now 😩. So frustrating.
Been looking at Hay Box so might give that a go. Hopefully it’s more cost effective than the pet shop bags I have had to get since I stopped being able to get a bale

       So much fun to see them enjoying it!
