The Human Guinea Pig Bond

We have only had our piggies since December and the bond between this one and my daughter is so sweet. She goes up to the cage and starts talking to them and when little Anna hears her voice she comes right up and touches noses with her through the cage!

We have two dogs too, I would have a house full of animals if I could! I grew up with lots of pets and I think it teaches kids to be kind and caring and gentle! It melts my heart to see my girls interacting with animals!

I agree @HeatherRose - I grew up with pets too, mostly rodents, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
My parents were strict about us taking responsibility for feeding, cleaning and playing with the animals.
It does teach responsibility as well as important lessons about life and death.
I can’t imagine a home without a pet having had hamsters for many years before getting guinea pigs again.

That is a lovely photo. I always wanted pets when I was younger but was never allowed them so I had to content myself with walking my elderly neighbour's spaniel every day instead which I loved doing. 8 of my hammies and 2 of my piggies are at the rainbow bridge and have been for several years. Now I just have 5 adorable piggies. Love them all! Would love another hammie but not allowed one.
