So, I vape only in the room my PC is in (and downstairs, but downstairs isn't the problem). If the blinds are kept closed the house is fairly good at not getting OTT warm, but that's mostly because it's old and can't get warm in the first place. But in order to vape, the window needs to be open and I don't care that I've removed the smoke alarm, that's not the point. Open window it is.

The heat in here is stifling (one of the other reasons for moving the goblins out of it). Just walking through the door is a massive, massive blast of welcome cold air. I have a fan. Is there any point to trying to use it? Is there a specific way that's best to try and place it? The room's tiny as rooms go - 5'x5' if I remember correctly, there's not a massive amount of options. I could move the PC downstairs, I'd really rather not. Upstairs is much more useful to me. So now I dunno. Fans?

@PigglePuggle has written a really good thingy on fans and iced bottles somewhere. I can't remember where. If I come across/find it again I will post here! Hopefully she will find this though.

Yes was just about to reply!
So if one room is super hot, ideally you need to blow hot air out, and cold air in.
If the room is very small, and you only have one fan, blowing cold air in is probably the thing. Put the fan outside the room on the floor in a cooler hallway so it blows cold air into the room at floor level- this will displace the hotter air which hangs around higher up. Pop a frozen bottle about 6 inches in front of the fan for extra cooling.
Also keep your PC off, they put out crazy amounts of heat!

I'd seen that one this morning @piggieminder @Qualcast&Flymo but I have only the one fan, rather than two. I have it like this as it stands, but I dunno if I'm missing somewhere about where best to put it

Edit: Sorry, bunch of replies when I was in the middle of typing. PC being off isn't an option, it's my only distraction from not being able to do my damn laundry which is a weird thing to be avoiding a panic attack over, I'll agree, but since they won't fix it, it's where I'm at. Just trying to make it that little bit more bearable before I yell bloody murder about it on Monday.

I turned the blinds round which has made more of a difference than I want to admit to, lol. I wondered about the damp towel/sheet, but I don't have a mist bottle and I don't want anything too wet around the electronics. It wouldn't be a problem in the other rooms, but there's no real wiggle room here. I may go get a bucket of water to dunk my feet into though.

I take it back, now the downstairs alarm is complaining. I can vape underneath that alarm with no problem but upstairs when it's warm? Nah screw that. I could take the bottom alarm out too I just...don't want to. Bad enough putting one back every night. I've shifted the tv and the fan's now sitting on some created space on the tv cabinet. And I'm wondering what cleaner I can dump to give myself a spray bottle lol.
