I got my piggies on the 11th of March. They're from a rescue centre, a mother and daughter pair of 4 and 5 years old who were finding it hard to find a home :( As you can imagine they've been very scared and still havent got used to me or me holding them and giving them cuddles. I understand that in time they'll come around but its such a sad time when all you want them to do is be like they will in a few weeks time. I'm so impatent :(
But anyway the younger piggie has started to wheek when i get out the hay bag and the mother wheeked a little. So this morning the mother was out munching around and shes normally keeps herself to herself and she can be quite stubborn. So i said "Hello piggies! Hello sweetheart, goodmorning" and she started to make noise, i just though she was worried and chattering to the other one about me. So then about 20 minutes later i said "piggies! Hello piggies!" and she full on wheeked her little heart out at me :D:D :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Ahhh :D Ima give them some hay and veggies now with the biggest smile!

Piggies! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Awwwwwwwwww ~ How sweeet :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

There lucky to have you as a piggy mummy :D

You have made my day. Great news, just keep talking to them because they get to know your voice and yes, they learn their names too just like cats and dogs. Such a lovely thing to take piggies from a rescue who have been abused. Well done.

Mine love cucumber, tomatos, carots and curly kale.

Thank you everyone for such kind and lovely posts :smitten:
I'ma hell of a talker so wether the piggies like it or not I'm talking to them so they can get used to me and my voice
They're really coming around my old girls. They're not the most handsome of piggies but the mother has such beautiful facial features! Her girl is so cute when shes sniffing around, and she has the most amazing character i've even seen in a guinea pig of that age and that has been with me for just over a week.
They were at the rescue for 18 months! The rescue lady said they were always passed over for a younger pair. But i knew as soon as i decided to get some piggies that i wanted the oldest one that no-one ever wants. They deserve a life out of a rescue just as much as any other piggie!
I havent regreted choosing them one bit. Their such lovely, strong willed women piggies and i love them lots ;) :smitten: :smitten:

Awwww, your piggies sound lovely :smitten: :smitten: Being patient always pays off in the end ;)

Can't wait for piccies of them? :D
