Competitions

During 2010, we will be running a variety of different competitions. The first competition the forum will be holding is a Referrals Competition. All you have to do is encourage your friends to join up the forum. When registering up to the forum, there is a section in the registration form to type in the username of the member that referred them to the forum. On the 1st March 2010, the member who has referred the most people are in with the chance of winning this...

The Guinea Pig Forum Podcast

This year, we are planning on creating The Guinea Pig Forum Podcast. Podcasts are web audio broadcasts, like a radio programme. Podcasts can then be downloaded on to your computer for you to listen to at anytime. We would be the FIRST Guinea Pig Forum to create a podcast! The podcast would allow rescues centres to advertise their rescues and guinea pigs that are available for re-home. Members from the forum could share their stories, as well as helping new members by sharing important information and advice.

We are currently looking for members to join the Forum Podcast Committee. If you would be interested in running the podcast, please send an e-mail to [email protected]

Good idea choosing Frankie for the t-shirt, Ellie...he's got quite a fan club. :))

Still thinking on ideas for the Podcast! Looking forward to seeing what 2010 brings for everyone on the forum, and the forum itself.
 
I would love to win the teddy, he's cute. Podcast sounds great, wish I knew what it was. Any more info for technophobes? sorry. lol xx
 
Basically a podcast is just like a radio show but it is not done live. So what we would do is have different people record different bits and then each section would be put together to make a podcast. I don't know if that helps you at all?

LOL! Same here, only one of my friends has piggys the rest aren't that interested in piggys (I don't see how they don't like them!)
I x) LOVE x) the sound of the podcast that you can download!
 
I think the idea of a podcast is very interesting. There are some topics (eg health) that could be a lot clearer to understand by hearing them rather than than reading them.
