Oh dear.
Unfortunately GPS is not all is made out to be. My OH drove for a living for a while, he was often sent to the wrong place, down roads that didn't exist!

GPS is useless. We went to my cousin's house last year and the sat nav took us to the other side of the road the problem was there was a house and a hedge and a drive in between where we were and where we needed to be! We managed to work out where we should be which was about a two minute walk (if you can go through a hedge and a house!) but about an 10 minute drive.

A couple of years back we had a holiday rental in a cottage on Dartmoor. The Satnav took us to the end of a lane with a gate and announced that our destination was “in the vicinity”. There was no further road. Just fields. We could see the cottage from the gate but we were on the wrong side of a valley and needed to do about a 3 mile detour round the roads to get to it. Back to the OS maps after that!

Google Maps is generally pretty good. I've taken to using them instead of TfGMs maps and travel guides because at least Google gives me accurate timings and doesn't send me on a 10 minute walk for a bus stop when there's one less than 5 minutes away!

My van built in sat nav takes you off every motorway exit to take you back on again. Every junction. Its a joke

:)):)) ,when i go to kent the sat nav says it takes 5 hours, because it does not reconise the dartford tunnel, attempts to take me to london, when i get through the dartford tunnel, the sat nav states the whole journey takes 2.45 hours.maybe the car is a bat mobile, and can swim the river thames!

My husband runs and one morning while we were up in rural Yorkshire he came back from a run on the single lane country roads to tell me about an articulated lorry that had got stuck. The driver had obviously not engaged his brain, followed the satnav and was stuck.
My husband had to clamber through the hedgerow to get past.
