I was having my own little thoughts the other day about what would happen if one of my piggies died. Now, my two boars (Aged 3) aren't the best friends, they fight for their own territory but they are not violent fights, just mounting each other and peeing on each other, so we do keep them seperate, but there are a few holes where they can meet each other safely. My question is, when one dies, then we would probably buy a new baby boar. But then the other might die, and then the baby would be alone, and then I don't know what would happen. I would have probably moved out into my own house by then. What could I do? The cycle would just go on and on and then i am stuck. What do you guys think I should do? Also, there aren't many near shelters in Copenhagen. I dunno what I would do when one of them dies!

Dyrenes Beskyttelse seem to do guinea pigs as well, so you could get an older one from there.

With guinea pigs the cycle does go on forever. You are right. They cannot live alone so you do always need to pair them up.

I agree with Piggyfan, it took a while but I was able to pair up all but 1 of my piggies(I have 4 sows) and I plan on trying again with her. Sometimes it can be hard but sooner or later I found they do click.
