I have 8 boys (in 4 pairs) and obviously they all have different personalities and different relationships but 1 boy does seems slightly neurotic. Cheeky is just over 1 year in age and just hardly ever settles. The other boys have loony moments but generally trundle around, chew a bit, snooze a bit - you know the piggie potter...

Cheeky is always at the front of his cage, chewing, talking, storming about - not aggressive just busy in a slightly neurotic way. He does nap but not that often. He is cuddly with me though - pretty much the only time he is still.

Not overly worried just wondering if other people have slightly intense busy pigs? If so, have you found anything that distracts them?

My Nia was another busybody (which is the main reason why she is much smaller than her sofa potato sister Nerys), but she has calmed noticeably down once her body reached adulthood at about 15 months old.

mine are similar tbh, if they're not asleep they're up running around and annoying the h*ll out of each other, only rumbling and chasing from the bad side though.
It is weird but maybe they just have more energy, they're still young piggies and some obviously have got more energy.

I thought you were going to name Barney then. When I read your title I though, Oh what's he been up to now! :)

My busy body is Pepe ~ He knows excatly what he wants and always doing.
He has at least 6 hours freerange and he is never still, I hear him thumping things, tugging and jumping into things continuously. He especially likes fleece washing and hay ready to be disposed off. I always have that moment where I switch the washer on and suddenly think OMG did I check for Pepe ! :...

If I cant hear him he is up to no good for sure

Good point :)) - Barney is a wiggly rumbly chuffle bottom but he does flop out on his fleece and just chill. However, Cheeky does not appear to relax very often.

Glad to hear that other piggies are also a bit intense and I can believe that Pepe is usually up to something;)

I think I just need to think of different thing to entertain Cheeky the restless pig eg hanging up rolls of hay / veggies?

Leah is definitely my slightly crazy on-the-go-explorer pig. She is ALWAYS on the go, never stops, always talking to herself. Even when she comes out for cuddles she would much rather be off finding new things! She settles with exploring me and finding vantage points to survey her surroundings. Definitely much happier with things to go and discover. Somewhat tempted to rename her Dora! :P

When its cleaning out time she's always investigating me and dad, our dust pans, inspecting our work.

She is slightly neurotic, but I love her for it!

Rebel is my hyper piggy, he is constantly on the go. If I open the hutch before i've put the steps in front, he'll headbutt the door open, throw himself out of hutch and sprint out of the shed to play in the garden. He is on the go that much, I call him Rebel without a pause! :))

Lol my David is like this he never stops! He's 6 now but you wouldn't think it. He HATES being strokes but I do it anyway he shouts to high heaven but I tell him " you will have cuddles" lol

That's my Angus, he's never still. He hates cuddles and screams and fidgits like med but he gets a good hug anyway. I think they grow out of it again though as I've had mad pigs in the past who've settled with time...

A special Cheeky playground :)

My girl Sherbert was very much like this and still is a bit. For her first 2 years she never walked anywhere she jumped and popcorned from one place to the next, ran laps round the cage, couldnt even sit still while I had her out for cuddles she was always off exploring. The only time I got her to sit still was to put her in a snuggle cup and stuff her full of food.
Unfortunately what changed her behaviour most was my dominant pig of the group passing away. :( Sherbert stepped up and became boss pig and has calmed down a lot since then. She's still much more hyper than any other 3 year old pigs I've seen though. rolleyes
