Thank you 😊 and maybe a helpful medicine administration technique?

Good evening everyone,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your advice regarding bladder inflammation/ interstitial cystitis.

My Gracie has been taking daily Feliway Cystease since you all advised it & her urine has gone from blood, to trace, to all clear. 🥳

She doesn't like the syringe feeding (she was actually crying 😢 as it was causing her distress... Such a sad sound)! So I've been slicing a fine line into the stalks of her lettuce & injecting the medicine into the slit - She eats that with no problems & always chooses the "medicated" leaf first 😅!

Hope you & your piggies are all safe & well.

All the best xx

Glad that the glucosamine and the veg insertion are doing the trick for you and that Gracie is well again in herself. She may have the odd flare up, so you have to brace for that and if necessary double the glucosamine shortly until it is back under control again.

Most of my own piggies will eat neatly around the powder and then leave the medicated bit, so syringing is generally the more efficient method; especially as you have more control about the intake when it doesn't taste as great to them.
It is one of these things where there are no fixed rules as long as your piggy likes to eat their medication; in any other case, syringing is the safest option of making sure that they are really getting the full dose.
