Hello. We got our 2 piggies at the beginning of the summer and this forum has been great for information so thank you very much.
Having lived outside happily for the summer we have brought them in now it is getting colder but I immediately realised out P@h cage was way too small. I have brought the components to make a C&C cage and I have been putting it together tonight. But before I cut it how high do you have the correx up the sides?
Also the connectors at the bottom of the panels obviously come out a bit further than the panels so how do you fit the correx in regards to these? do you just make it smaller all round so it doesn't quite go all the way to the sides?
I have seen people have also said about using cable ties on the cages, what are these used for?
Finally I plan to put fleece on the bottom, do I need to attach it at all? If so how?!
Thanks for your help, I am so excited to be giving our piggies a new place to play :)

I think the correx is scored lightly with a Stanley knife and taped into place at the corners. Mine came all ready to put together. Cable ties are used to keep the grids upright and in place if they slip out of the connectors (I have tripped into the cage when cleaning it and these have kept it from collapsing).
I use fleece for bedding and I just place a layer of towels on the bottom and tuck two layers of fleece under the sides of the towels. Some people clip it up the side 9 the correx but I found this to be over fiddley.
Hope that all makes sense :)

Hi you're essentially making a tray with the correx like the plastic bottom half of your shop bought cage. It sits on top of the connectors, flush with the grids.

I will take you a few pics of my fleece in mine if you like? I have puppy pads on the bottom, then towels then the fleece. I don't think the puppy pads are essential but they make it easier when it comes to cleaning out because, if I'm in a hurry I don't feel too bad about not wiping the correx base clean! I got a bag of 100 puppy pads for £9.99 from B&M bargains.

I don't use the connectors as it makes the cage to wide for where I want it to be. It also means that I can fold it up when doing a full room clean but my cages are on the floor. Mine are all cable tied together. I also made a foldable playpen with grids for when i habe to move my piggies out
