i'm finally getting a new little addition from the north east guinea pig rescue x)

i can't wait. but i didn't have a 'neutral' place for them. so i made one today. it cost less than £10, so i'm quite pleased. though my shoulders do ache now

it's only 4ft x 2ft, but they'll only be in there for about a day. it took about 2 hours to throw together, has a lino flooring, and is sealed completely with aquarium sealant that i had spare from a gecko vivarium build i did a while ago.

Looks good, you must be tired! It will all be worth it though when you have happy piggies making friends!

absolutely knackered. i've done loads for my piggles recently. new hutch decorated and turfed. then it rained, so i actually added shower curtains to the hutch to make it weatherproof. they're so spoilt. little monsters don't appreciate it :p i've also just ordered them a cozy each, as they don't have anything that's specifically 'theirs'. i even ordered Alfie one. i can't wait to get him here

We have been building up our piggy toys and extras since we got them. Trying to get something new each month! Our fridge is always full of delicious veg and my OH thinks they are better fed than he is. Last year we built a special shed for them and this year the plan is to add another level to the shed so they have even more space to play in!

I'm sure Alphie and the other pigs will love their new huggies!

You've worked really hard, well done! :)

I'm beginning to think that guinea pigs have hypnotic powers or some kind of addictive drug on their coats, that as soon as you come into contact with them you're smitten!

I am not what I would've called 'an animal person', I like them but didn't want them in my house.........now it's piggy this, piggy that! LOL! rolleyes

it's staying in a shed in our garden, so that if i want to bring them all in for turn-taken bonding sessions, they can play in that and take it in turns on my lap :p

my sister suggested using our bath as a temporary cage for them. but i couldn't put them in a bathroom for a day :( i'd feel really mean. it's quite small. so i built this.

they have lots of toys. a few weeks ago it was a tree with dangling carrots that i sew leaves onto :p because i'm just that sad.

thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. i agree they may be slightly hypnotic. they're just so cute. i am an animal person, but piggles over dogs and cats anyday. they don't trip me as i walk around the house.

i'm only 18, so i live at home, but i actually believe that when i have my own house, my guinea pigs might actually have their own bedroom :p though that would give me incentive to get even more...
