Hi all

I am trying to come up with an idea for a temporary indoor run - until i get out at the weekend to buy/make one.

My previous guinea pigs didn't need a run, they just used to run free when i was home - but as i have 2 new, very nervous ones i can not yet allow them to run free cos i think they would just find the smallest space possible and get stuck!

Anyway - the only thing i can lay my hands on now is a paddling pool. It is one with blow-up sides. My concern is that they may eat some of the plastic. Has anyone any thoughts?

Thanks

They make get their claws stuck and burst the plastic or rip the bottom... sometimes their claws are sharper than you may think! Are there any other things that you could use at all? You could barricade places that you think they may get stuck in? When I first got mine, I let them run about on the landing and shut all the doors, but then again I don't have a bannister or stairs leading directly up to it, I have a door which shuts them in!

I think you may be able to get away with the paddling pool, as it's only temporary, and you could watch them all the time. I would line it though with maybe an old blanket or something to avoid claws becoming stuck. x

lol ! well that didn't last long ! Donut & Peppa were having a great time but have already burst the 3 blow-up bits !

Luckily they didn't pop, just gradually going down - so it wasn't scarey ! At least Peppa had a run tonight, and i can get something else sorted for tomorrow. Donut is now free range in the lounge, as usual !

Thanks for yor comments
Rach
