We're brand new owners, well almost - and supposed to be picking up two 10-week old girls tomorrow.
However, to cut a looong story short, Yodel after many lies/wrong information, have sent back the 5x2 c&c cage we've ordered back to the sender (known on here and very helpful). Everything else we've ordered is sat in the garage waiting the cage.
There's a very small chance we could get the cage tomorrow still, but more than likely will be a few days and it will be next weekend before we have time to go and get the girls.
Sooo, it's either go get the GP's and have a temporary 'cage' for probably a week or just put off for a week (we really want them for daughters birthday this weekend if possible, but don't want to be cruel on the GP either).
We do have one of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WP1ZGHN/ref=pe_1909131_77697121_tnp_email_TE_AMZLdp_2 (a 34-inch round cage) but I don't know if it'd be big enough for a week or I've seen someone say the bath would do somehow temporarily (we can do without it for a week) or any other easy temp suggestions? Or should we just put it off for a week and try and rearrange GP's for Xmas (which will be a ballache as it's a surprise and we'd need to get main cage up and get GP last minute somehow without DD knowing...)
Thanks.

Bonding baths aren't recommended anymore. If the piggies are from a reputable rescue or are already bonded there shouldn't be a need for a bath anyway.

I don't know where you are getting the piggies from but if they are coming from a rescue then you need to speak to the rescue about it as they will need to make the decision over whether they are happy rehoming to that for a week. Looking at the size it looks to be 2foot diameter. This is considerably smaller than the minimum guidelines of 2 foot by 4 foot. Being small it may result in the piggies hurting each other as they can't ecape from the other or falling out completely.

Thanks. I meant just to actually keep them in the bath itself for a week (stupid idea? lol) Was sort of thinking to tape up fleece all around it then add in hideys etc. Though god knows where water bottles would go. Yes, rubbish idea I think lol...

The round run is a circular 2.8 feet.

If you're getting your sows from a rescue, (much the best way), they might be able to lend you a cage temporarily.
If not, I calculated that a 2.8ft diameter pen would be about 6 sq foot, which is smaller than the minimum recommended for normal use but may be ok for a few days, I don't know for sure. I have a spare Ferplast 120 cage, but chances are that you are nowhere near my neck of the woods..

I personally think it would be fine for a few days or even the bath idea IF you can find a solution for the water bottles.

Different situation completely but when I used to have outdoor pigs quite a few years ago (I now have indoor) we had a very cold winter where it got down to -9 There was no way I could keep them out in that. I had four piggies (girl's) and no spare cage. I lined the bath with newspapers , fleece and hay and put them in there. No way was it big enough for four but it was the best I could do and at least they wasn't freezing to death. I kept them like that for a week and they were perfectly fine.

I’d go with the playpen in your link. as said above, its not big enough for them, but it will probably be ok for a little while. I’m sure it would be more practical then using the bath!

Yes the bath for me wasn’t ideal at all but like I say, it was the only solution I had at the time. We would let them run around the bathroom floor during the day. I too would go for the playpen

Oh yes of course in your situation it was the best thing to do.

I would buy a cage from a pet shop, keep.it as good condition as you can and return it. So basicly borrow it. Or sell it on

Have you looked at these puppy play pens? We have one for Bill and Ted when the weather is bad. Ours is huge about 60” diameter, waterproof base, holder for water bottle, folds flat and folds out in seconds. It’s brilliant and if space is a little tight you can fold one of the segment in a bit, really flexible, my boys love it.

My bad, late night trying to read and advise and really misunderstood that one. I hope you find a solution that works for the few days while you await your new cage. I've used a plastic paddling pool before as a temporary set up (one of the ones with the hard sides) though I can imagine they aren't as easy to get right now

If you could give us a rough idea of your location one of us may have a cage you could borrow. I'm in South Bristol and have spare 120 cages, I also have loads of spare C&C grids and plastic sheeting I'd be happy to lend in an emergency.

Does this fold flat?

As @piggieminder says if you post your location someone can probably help- we have a 2-tier 120cm cage we've hardly used sitting around in Liverpool, plus a spare 4x4ft bunny business playpen.

Thank you everyone for your advice etc 👍.
Really needed something today as the GP we were getting would be gone otherwise . Looks like the big cage will be here tomorrow or Sunday.
Ended up using the circular cage temporarily, but it has a door also so have got that doorway going through to an enormous box to that we kitted out.
Picked the GP up this afternoon. It’s two 10-week old sisters now called Ada & Nellie lol.
They were understandably hiding for a couple of hours but already out, eating and popcorning about 😃. Ignoring the water bottles though so far...
Can’t wait until they get in the big cage. I’ll post some pics up then.
Thanks again.

Yes it folds flat into its own bag with handle, great for holidays or home. We really like it, and it’s easy to store, set up and now the boys are in the conservatory for the winter instead of outside they still have plenty of room, as they really like to be outside and are used to that size of space. It also has zipped base and mesh top, fab
