Temperature changes

Hi

I have 3 guinea pigs that has never been outside at all... my dad now started to get annoyed by the smell and so on... so he asked me to keep them outside.
We don’t have a garden though so I am going to be putting them in the balcony.
I live in Istanbul and the weather here is not cold at all... Today it is 16c here!
But I was wondering if that would still be cold for them since they never ever leave the room ? And it is their first time ? Would the sudden change in the temperature be a problem?

what temperature is it inside your house? Sudden temperature change can be a problem especially if it is a huge change

How hot does it get over there? Temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius are too hot for them so that might be something worth considering as well? As mine live indoors they enjoy our temperatures with heat in winter and cool fans in summer so we don’t need to worry about extreme temperatures. It can be hard when you’re at parents mercy!

Our house is usually warm. And most probably it is 20c or a bit less than that.. it is always warm. However the weather started warming up a bit here in Istanbul and today It is 16c outside.. however it is a bit windy today.

Is there a way to shelter the balcony? Pigs should be kept out of the wind

It can reach 33c here in Istanbul here in summer.. however, for now the weather is still nice and it is not really very warm yet!

Ah okay! They’d likely have to come back inside when it reaches about 24c so might be worth mentioning that to your folks And yea just protect them against the wind!

Can we help re the smell? What bedding do you use? Maybe then your dad won’t mind!
