Hi everyone,

This morning I found my youngest pig, Jimmy with his bottom teeth coming through his lip... I took him straight to the vet who managed to 'unhook' it. She said she was reluctant to give him antibiotics as he's only 4 months old although she did give him a painkiller and gave me a sachet of liquid food which he happily ate.

Has anyone else had this happen to their pigs? His teeth aren't overgrown so i'm not sure what happened. He seems to be a bit better now, eating some hay although he has a very swollen lip and is looking a bit sorry for himself!

Sorry - never heard of this problem but my suspicions would tell me that the teeth might need trimming.

He might of jumped off a toy/bridge or something high in the cage, landed funny and they went thu?
Hope his lip gets better x

hoping jimmy's lip gets better :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: like said either he hit his mouth or his teeth need trimming, sending hugs and healing vibes :smitten: :smitten:
:smitten: get well and fell better soon jimmy :-* :-* :-*

Thanks everyone! He's looking much better today and munching on kale as a treat! He is quite an adventurous pig, climbing on top of twig tunnels and leaping off so i think he must have landed on his mouth. He also does some crazy popcorns!
