Hi all

Last week unfortunately one of my daughters guinea pigs died :0(.

She had a companion, which is obviously now left on her own. Both Guinea pigs where previously housed outside. But after ringing the shop that I purchased them from we decided to bring the remaining Guinea Pig inside.

We get her out on a daily basis to give her some TLC, however she quiet often sits and chatters her teeth whilst being stroked (I have read that this is not a particularly good noise for her to be making). What should I do about this as I don't want to just leave her in her cage all the time but equally I don't want to upset her.

Any advice would be very much appreciated x

oh I'm sorry about your loss, have you thought about getting her a new friend?
i wouldnt worry too much about the teeth chattering my boys Mac and Rascal will chatter when theyre out, they do it to each other all the time when in the cage, Mac quite often teeth chatters at me but it goes no further than that. I'm sure he`s doing it to complain about me not feeding him enough veggies!:))

Sorry for your loss, as suggested above i would think about getting another piggie so she has some company. My girls teeth chatter occasionally when there is an unexpected noise, i don't think you should worry about it too much.

defo think about getting a same sexed friend for her, with sows it doesnt really matter on the age of the other one,as long as the other one isnt a dominant one..
Try a rescue local to yourself as they would pair her up with a suitable guinea friend for her xx
