I've recently adopted another sow - Piglet who was mourning the death of her cage mate. She'd stopped eating and drinking and became really depressed.
Piglet has perked up no end and has been really chatty to Marmite and Poppy though the bars.
I introduced Honey in to the same run as Piglet - divided up at first for the first few meetings before removing the divide.
They have both been a bit teeth chattery and have had little digs at each other, but I guess they do a bit of this to establish their position.
I have put them together for a bit tonight and again a few teeth chatters and digs from each other, but also Honey is popcorning and trying to mount Piglet.
Do I let them try to establish a bond or would it be better to separate them? Neither Pig seems too upset or stressed, so what should I do?

I always take that popcorny thing as a kind of tantrum! they seem to do it when annoyed aswell as happy! Sows are so hormonal! a couple of mine do it all the time especially when theyre in heat! as long as there's no fighting or lunging i'd leave them to it :) x

i'd leave them to bond. if blood is drawn then split them but they will soon work out who's boss and will be fine. xx

Thanks.
I've been watching them again for a little while and most of the time they mooch about doing their own thing :) but Honey is still a little feisty chasing Piglet and having digs at her ?.
I've had a check over their fur and skin and it seems that there has been no blood spilt O0.
I shall check on them again later and if things are settling, I'll leave them to it ::)

they should be fine, my sows do this ;D mounting, rumbling, wheeking, popcorning....insane animals 98) ;D
