My two girls have been successfully re-bonded for over a week now following one’s surgery. They’re both cleared by their vet and healthy now, so after over a month apart we were able to bond again.

Starting early yesterday, Peppa began to teeth chatter a lot at Cashew. They can coexist peacefully still, but at least once per hour Peppa is chasing Cashew and chattering at her in a weird circle. She will creep, walking slowly, up to Cashew and chatter and her while circling her and then randomly walks away. The fact that it’s happening a lot is concerning to me, but they don’t fight.

Why is Peppa doing this? Has anyone else experienced this?

They’re 5 months old so Peppa could be ‘in season’ but I’ve never seen either of my girls display ‘in season’ behavior before.

HERE ARE TWO VIDEO EXAMPLES OF MY GIRLS:

Cashew isn’t doing ANYTHING to Peppa but - volume on please - Peppa is so frustrating!

Hi! the weeks around 6 months are usually the ones where sows also experience a hormone high. It is not usually well known because it leads to fall-out or fights much less often; usually only where there is an already underlying rift that cannot cope with the additional hormone based strain on the relationship.

More information in these guides here:

@Wiebke I’ve read all of the guides! Peppa seems to really enjoy the chattering and tormenting Cashew though. Will it randomly stop happening in a day or so? She popcorns after it and all! I guess I just feel really bad for Cashew.

Also- is the frequency of teeth chattering (every minute or so) expected with a hormone high? I know that the behavior itself is ‘normal,’ but what about how often Peppa does it?
