Hello! I am new here. I have a new piggy named Stitch. I’ve had him for about two days. He’s been perfectly fine until earlier today. I am still learning how he likes to be petted. I tickled his belly earlier and he started chattering his teeth. From all of the things I’ve read, this is a little aggression. So I put him back in his room and went to work. He was t out much today bc most of my family wasn’t home. He would’ve been alone for maybe 3-4 hours? So he wasn’t out and playing much today. He doesn’t have a cage mate yet. I came home and tried to hold him for a little while. I was hand feeding him and he was alright. He was kind of eating and then trying to get closer to my face. But he started chattering again. So I don’t know if I am making a big deal out of nothing or does he simply not like me? He hasn’t done this with either of my sisters from what they told me... does my piggy hate me? Or did he just have a long day and wanted to go to bed? He definitely did not come to me when I took him out of his room. He fought me on it a little..

Piggies don’t hate people they don’t possess that type of thought process so please don’t worry about that. I would imagine he is a little scared and that is his way of telling you, he didn’t like it and wanted to be put back.

Piggies will nearly always fight on been picked up, they are prey animals so being caught goes against all instincts try these techniques below

I would advise getting your piggy a friend they need their own as companions

Hi and welcome!

Teeth chattering means that a piggy doesn't like something.

Please consider getting him a companion sooner rather than later. Teenagers are a lot harder to bond. The months between weaning and reaching teenage are the formative ones where companionship is never as important as at any other time in life and where most piggies are truly desperate for it.
