The new hutch for my fighting teenage boys (12 wks old) has arrived! It is over 6ft long with a mesh divider in the middle so that they can't bite one another but they can chat:)

So far going really well - I put them in and they started rumbling, hackles and chewing the mesh mallethead but then they started just chatting to one another and then leaping like loonies:) I have not seen them popcorn before.
The nice new hutch is already trashed after about 1 hour - teenage boys I suppose! :))
Do you think the popcorning on meeting is a good sign for them getting on it the future? The mesh divider can be removed if they do get on.....

PS Would recommend that anyone trying a divider goes for full height! Sudoku and Cheeky did some impressive jumping to the top of the mesh...

That looks great, did you have it custom made to your own requirements!

I can't comment on whether the popcorning is an indicator of a future friendship for the boys, but it sure sounds like they're happy with living next door to one another!

Lovely hutch, hope that they sort out their differences at some point so that you can let them back together.

My new piggie Stan is in with Winston they are having floor time in their playpen. There is a bit of humping and rumble strutting but i did notice Stan pop corning as well! And they are getting on so well!

Fingers crossed they can learn to be best buddies! Sounds like they are enjoying bantering back and forth!

Where is the hutch from? Was it very expensive? Sorry to be nosey but this would be ideal for mine. My garden is not very big, so I would be able to go from 2 hutches to 1 with one of these x

Hi. There are another couple of pictures of new hutch in the Hutches sticky thread if you are interested.
Yes it was custom made and yes it was quite expensive") but worth it:)
The maker is based in Harrogate in North Yorkshire and the company is called Dawson's Animal Housing - he makes all sorts of hutches and runs and they are all very solid, I think.
He has made divided hutches and runs for asbo teenage piggies before....rolleyes
