So i'm a big fan of natural products/remedies and I clean my bathrooms with diluted (2 teaspoons to 2 cups water) tea tree oil for antibacterial as well as antifungal properties.

Do you think I could use this diluted solution to throughly clean out the hutch for the guineas? They are having fungal issues and I thought this might help to clear any spores lingering around?

Considering you can apply this to open cuts (undiluted) and even use it for children and with no known allergic properties....?/

Hi Love :)
Peter Gurney used tea tree oil for piggies with skin problems.........
Maybe if you can dilute it in water.......but maybe it might leave a residue? you would have to then remove this with water.
I used very diluted vinegar and water, i spray their house and then wipe/scrub down the base and walls and then wipe clean again.

very interesting article as i'm having fungal problems and also i'm starting to be convinced they may have lice too.
thanks Glynis.

i'm sure the weather is not helping, its very hot and will get hotter but as we live on the coast its not so humid like centre of athens at least!

I hope everything goes well with your little one.

I always spray around the piggies back ends in the summer to help discourage any flies,as well as keeping the long haired bottoms trimmed very short . I use tee trea spray from the pet shop, also spray my dogs in the summer.
