I've posted about my other 3 guinea pigs but these two have a seperate problem.

Tammy is a very large, black sow which i have had for about 3 years. I rescued Daisy along with sister Maisy about 10 weeks ago. All were treated for mites with xeno 450.

Tammy is losing a lot of hair on her rump area. I noticed before i even got the other two that just above her bum a lot of black sticky stuff was clumping hair together. Now if i just gently pull hair on the rump area it comes out. Her skin is dry and flaky and i think it's quite sensitive when i touch it. There a very very tiny brown dots in one patch of hair. They don't move and she's not itching a lot.

Now Maisy has these brown dots just above her bum and is starting to get the same sort of clumping. I really don't know what it is and i don't want my two new babies to get sick either.

Tammy and Daisy are kept in one hutch and Maisy and her two babies in a seperate hutch. I know it's a bit confusing and i can explain better if you ask questions. I would really appreciate any help.

My first thought was when reading about the black sticky stuff on her rump would be her grease gland. Usually males secrete a lot of grease but it can happen in females too. Swarfega is good to use (I think that's how it is spelt) or vaseline. When you said the skin was dry and flaky and the fur comes out it could also be a fungal infection. I would probably try the swarfega or vaseline for the grease gland first. If no improvment over a couple of days you could email Chrissie at www.gorgeousguineas.com with a picture if possible and she is very helpful and I'm sure she would recommend something. Hope this helps x
