Hi. I'm new on this site. i have 2 guinea pigs called Ben & Jerry they are both boars. there my babies. ive had them a year. and there both 1 year old. i got them both from a pet store. Jerry has always been a loving guinea pig hes very relaxed and hes a little character. but Ben is still skittish with me, he doesn't like being held and when i go too stroke him in his cage he runs away or jumps. it makes me sad because id never hurt him, I'm gentle with both of my men. is there any way i can get Ben like Jerry so hes relaxed around me?

I'm afraid all you can do is be patient and wait!
Handling often helps get them used to you though!
It is in a Guinea pigs nature to be skittish and squirmy so the will always be a little bit wary of you.

Be patient; by far not all piggies are cuddlers and touchers.
The tips in these guides here can help you in communicating with Ben in his own "language" and help to settle him down better. Don't try to pet him in the cage; many of my piggies don't like that, and it can startle them. There are other ways to interact with a piggy than petting.

I've had Hettie for over 2 years now and she is still terribly timid and skittish.

Sometimes it's just their personality.
