Hey everyone, I've been orally giving my guinea pig antibiotics for the last 10 days (for an infected burtsed cyst) with no issues but today I had to give her the last dose before the vet visit on Monday. I usually give it to her with someone else holding her as she hates taking the antibiotics and is quite feisty. I had to give it to her by myself today as I was the only one at home, when I was giving it her she started to move and i don't know what happened, but I think the syringe went farther into her mouth and into her nasal cavity. She has started to breathe exactly like a guinea pig with a uri, the stuffy nose breathing sound. I obviously didn't want this to happen but It did and I'm not sure what to do until I see the vet :(

There isn’t really anything you can do. What time is your appointment? You could call and see if they can bring it forward. How is she aside from the breathing?

My appointment is at 3:00 pm where I am and she seems to be doing fine besides the stuffy breathing. It seems to be coming from her nose rather then the lungs like a uri. She seems to be doing better as it's not as loud as before.

Please do add your location. Country will do. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
