Swollen toe?

Hi, little mal seems to have a swollen toe, I'm going to email the pic to the vets to see if she needs an appointment but wondered if anyone else had experienced this? Nugget had a swollen toe and needed antibiotics but her toe was obviously broken mals seems OK and she is well in herself

There really is! I thought I was doing well my last vet trip was the 3rd april almost a month is good for us no idea what could be wrong with the toe but I always go by check a small problem stop a big one

Mal says thankyou for the good luck vibes everyone she's not sure what all this fuss is about but doesn't like the sound of this vet trip and mummy is wondering if climbing this thing is how she hurt it in the first place (assuming she has hurt it that is )

They think she's caught it and caused a nail bed infection got to bathe it in hibiscrub twice a day for a week then send a picture xx

Mal is a highly unhappy piggy today, she never has been a fan of handling and would much sooner stand at the cage side having a chat and taking snacks! She despises foot spas! In mals words:
Someone save me from this hooman, she keeps pig napping me! twice a day I tell you for these foot Spa thingys, well I don't like these pesky foot spas so today I decided to show the pesky hooman what I'm made of and bite down hard on her hand! I drew blood! Serves the hooman right! Then said human had the nerve to try for a nail clip! I don't think so lady not today I mean she must be joking right? Leave a pigs tootsies alone already

It made me giggle as I wrote it lol she was perfectly happy when I put her back in the cage with some forage until all her friends got pig napped one by one to have health checks and weigh ins
Her toe seems to be heading in the right direction I'm hoping the vet willl deem no more foot spas necessary when I send the pic on Saturday it is still a bit swollen but I think less swollen than before

I know what you mean. But I work on the fact ok . . It's a 5 min job that but we owe it to piggies to try fix them.
I'm about to do battle with my long haired piggie. She needs a hair cut and bum bath. . I'm about to put my armour on. . .

When Patsy had to have foot spas, I gave her some recovery food to munch on and this kept her happy. Have you tried this with Mal?

I haven't but that's a very good idea! Thankyou! her appetite isn't affected but I think it's definitely worth a shot!

Recovery food is a special treat. Patsy chomps it straight from the bowl. I tried not to make up more than she would eat during the two treatments per day (I kept it in the fridge in between). If there were some leftovers, then it went in the cage for the either Betsy and Meg to try and gobble up first.

Its definitely a special treat here too, whenever leftovers go in the cage for a poorly piggie the cage mates always gobble it up
