Has anyone else had this issue? A week or so ago, out of the blue, my daisy’s toe was quite swollen. We were told it could be fungal, but the vet doesn’t think So, but we are trying antibiotics and an oral anti-fungal to rule it out. She said if that’s not the problem, sometimes they have to go under anesthesia and amputate the toe, but she doesn’t want to do that without exhausting all other options. She said x-rays would be preferable as well to rule of lysis of the bone; she just didn’t have that equipment on hand to be able to do xrays on a animal that small. 865F4E31-0126-4B39-8928-75C9B4F9348D.webp217C91DE-4E0D-4621-8AAF-72825D4BA399.webp7F2D2606-58FA-41D2-9F5A-669562C09A90.webpFD14C6F8-8EDA-4B4B-A52F-F6C47B7BDCA3.webp

Hi and welcome

Ouch! It looks rather sore! I hope that the medication will do the trick!

Thankfully she doesn’t seem to be bothered! But I am hoping the medications heal it up so we don’t have to take more extreme measures!

Ouch indeed. Let’s hope the treatment works. Everything crossed.

Hi there, I don't know if you are still active on here, but my piggie has a swollen toe and it looks very similar to how your piggies looked. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what ended up working for your piggie and if you know what it was(bacterial/fungal or something else? So far, nothing has completely taken the swelling away.

@kendrab You're better off starting your own thread. This is from 2019 and the member didn't come on again. Speak to the vet and see what they say.

It's better not to resurrect old threads :)

I did a week ago, thank you. I just figured there's no harm in seeing if they're still around.
If you start a new thread it’s a bit easier and not so confusing for people! Everyone would be happy to help if we can though if you start one now :)
