My guinea pig just swallowed rubber band, not big. I don't know what to do. He looks normal

Get your pig to a vet asap?! The elastic band can become entangled in his intestine and cause unimaginable injury! Your pig could be in real danger please seek vetinary advice asap

Oh my I hope your piggy will be ok.

When my boys were younger they played indoors in the winter and they (unknown to me) ate the wheels off my daughters toy pram. My daughter was most upset when she went to use it and it wobbled due to chunks missing. Needless to say I moved everything out their way little pests.

They also chomped through the rubber rungs on my clothes airer. rolleyes

Please do not panic. If the band is small, it is more than likely to pass through. Make sure he carries on eating and drinking and add more fibre to his diet to help get his gut moving. Watch out for signs of a puffed up coat, decreased activity and straining to poo for the next 3 days and if you are concerned at all, seek veterinary advice asap.

Whatever you do, don't feel bad. My own piggies have managed to get hold of things they shouldn't have done.

Keep a close eye on your piggy. If he shows any signs of loss of appetite, lack of activity or struggling to poo then you'll need to get him to a vet asap

He seems fine. I phoned vets, she said to keep an eye. Hope he will pass it quick. Thank you for advises

this is great advice. also it is quite likely that he ground it up before swallowing it as pigs chew their food very thoroughly unlike cats and dogs who tend to gulp things down.( what lil-ninnbig says would definately apply if a cat or dog had swollowed something like this)
i was once syringe feeding a piggy who pulled off the black stopper, i tried to get it out of his mouth with coton buds then syringing in water but all that came out was finely ground black rubber. i was very worried but the piggy was fine.

Since they chew everything pretty thoroughly, it's not too likely that it made it into his intestines intact. It will most likely pass through okay. The main risk is that it could cause an intestinal blockage, so watch to make sure he is pooping, not bloated, etc. If it makes you feel any better, once my kids left the hay bag too close to the cage and one of my pigs ended up eating a ton of the plastic bag before I found it and moved it- I was freaked out, but she was fine.
