I have two guinea pigs that do not get along, like if they can touch each other they will pull out each others fur no matter what. They both need to be surrendered and rehomed and I do not know how to do that
Thank you. That is what I am doing but it’s making the bedding cost too much and taking up too much space in my roomI am sorry that you cannot keep your piggies. Are you able to keep them in separate cages next to each other?
I have included a link to reputable rescues here in the US. It looks like there are two in North Carolina.

I don’t understand how it works. I thought that you just bring the guinea pigs to the care place and they will be goodI am sorry that you cannot keep your piggies. Are you able to keep them in separate cages next to each other?

Thank you I tried doing the fleece but it’s too much to wash every three days and clean each cage every dayHi
With the current tsunami wave of over-produced and no longer wanted pets, every venue for rehoming pets is chocca as piggies and all other species are dumped left, right and centre everywhere but nobody is adopting. There is only so much space
In the USA, there is also the additional distinction between euthanizing shelters and non-kill rescues; the first will hold pets only for a few days before they are put down if they do not find any interest and latter have waiting lists for unwanted guinea pigs or may be closed for anything that is not a life or death emergency, depending on how bad the situation is.
Rehoming via the free-ads will not necessarily guarantee you happy homes as they come with their own risks and currently far too little interest from the right kind of people but too much from the wrong ones (snake owners or fighting dog trainers etc).
Would you consider changing the bedding to washable fleece and cotton towel underlay and keeping the boys in stacked cages?

Thank you, don’t worry I know not to release them out side I would never do that. They have been separated for a while and it’s just becoming too muchI agree with Siikibam and Wiebke. I currently foster guinea pigs for a rescue that deals with everything but cats and dogs. You have to contact them first; most do not have a central location with all the animals kept there. The rescue I work with has over 250 foster homes for all sorts of animals and everyone is a volunteer that has a job/family/life stuff that we do too. Another option for you, if those rescues are full, would be to find a no-kill shelter that will take the guinea pigs. You may have to wait a little while to surrender them as everyone is very full right now. While you are waiting, please separate your piggies as it sounds like they are not getting along.
Please, please, please do not release them outside.
