I’m attaching pictures of my girl Cashew’s nose. She’s recovering from abscess removal surgery, and she hates medicine. I’m touching this part of her nose a lot to get her mouth to open for syringes, but it’s weird that it’s only this side.

Note: the other side had alopecia from ringworm, which has now been treated in her orally and topically for over one month. No signs of ringworm are anywhere on her body. She’s also gotten two doses of Ivomec drops and will continue mite treatment once cleared from surgery.

No signs of crusting. Just hair loss and seems moist/wet. It’s red too, as you can see.

Another note: I’m going to the vet ASAP obviously. They’re closed on Sundays, and they’re the only place trustworthy for exotics in Chicago. She’s there all the time.

Good luck with the vet, hopefully it’s something simple.

All the best! I hope that is just simply dried residue from a finger that has been a bit sticky with medication. ;)

@Siikibam @Merab's Slave @Wiebke thank you all! So that redness doesn’t look concerning to any of you? Mites/ringworm? I know a picture is only so telling but I’ve never seen anything like that moistness. Would be strange for it to be ringworm or mites since those are both treated. She’s taking oral aerobic bacteria medication, oral ringworm medication, topical fungal cream, and has been treated for mites as a precautionary measure (she’s never had mites) - along with the load of other medications she’s taking for post-op recovery and keeping those abscesses away.

No, it is just the normal skin peeking out more through the caked hair.

To second the above point, my pig used to always somehow manage to get a small blob of metacam on his nose. His fur stuck together like this but only in a small section, I did notice the skin became redder as obviously it’s exposed but also he would try and wash it a lot more. The medication didn’t come out by him washing it alone, we put some slightly warm water on a q-tip and cleaned it for a day or two and the crusted fur fell off
