Hi everyone!

Noticed a sudden red small blister on edge of her eye. Is night time and the vets are closed, is this an emergency? Have never seen this before and unable to get professional advice or care at this moment.

Thank you

Hi

Please see a vet for a potential injury or infection to the conjunctiva, which looks swollen nd potentially inflamed. It looks like a stalk of hay could have caught in the corner of the eye. You may need antibiotic eye drop and will need a hands-on check to ensure that the eye surface has not been affected and could get infected.

Any general vet will do since eye treatment and medication is the one area where guinea pigs are exactly the same as cats and dogs. Speed of treatment is more important than specialisation when it comes to eyes.

Without access to your piggy we can only guess.
