Please could anyone shed any light to what has happened to my dear Peppa, head of a herd of 7, and recent chirper. She was totally her normal self and the next morning was found dead. She was approaching her third birthday.
I can’t understand what could have happened.

I’m so sorry you have lost Peppa so unexpectedly. Such a shock for you. The only way to find out cause of death would be for a vet to perform a post mortem.

Piggies hide their illnesses so well. Don’t blame yourself.

I’m so sorry you lost Peppa so suddenly, it’s such a horrible shock when you come across them after being perfectly healthy the last time you were with them. All I can say is that Peppa didn’t suffer :hug:Take care

Sleep tight Peppa 🌈

I've had a couple pigs pass away suddenly, unfortunately it could be a multitude of different things. Please do not feel guilty or spend hours wondering what or why. Its often more disruptive than helpful.
Please take time for yourself and I would recommend having a read of the link above, it has helped me understand and feel better through some tough times.

Keeping you in my thoughts x

Thanks for your advice and understanding. It’s hard to imagine a healthy piggy leaving so prematurely and suddenly. I have never had this happen to me before. But I am glad you feel it wasn’t something I could have done differently.

So sorry for your loss.
Sudden, unexplained death is hard to cope with.
I lost my 2 year old Tamar in similar conditions. We always want to know why but sometimes there’s no clear reason
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
