Hi all,

This is my first post so I’m hoping I’ve done it right!
I will be starting my postgraduate degree soon and would like to take my Guinea Pigs with me.
I won’t be taking them for the first term whilst I settle in/get to know the my timetable.
I know that student accommodation won’t be suitable for them so am planning on renting privately.
Rent is quite expensive and so I have been looking at studio rooms but am concerned about whether this will be suitable for my pigs.
If the flat is only one room with a bathroom, will cooking using the kitchenette be harmful/upsetting for my pigs?
I know that I would have to be very mindful of noise and using any aerosols.
If anyone has any advice, I would be really grateful! I just want to make sure I’m doing what is best for them.

Thanks in advance,
Maia :))

Hello and welcome to the forum Maia, exciting times ahead 😁
I think the main thing is to check and make sure you are allowed piggies in the studio flat or any other rental property. If you are, then any hurdles you come across you will solve or compromise. It’s so lovely to hear you want to keep them with you and that’s the main thing x

Welcome to the forum.
I would agree with @Bill & Ted about making sure you will be allowed the piggies.
Then think about the rest of it.
Your piggies sound as if they are well loved and I hope things work out well for you.

Hope your studies go well.
What is your subject?

:agr:

But along with making sure you can keep pets in a studio flat, you also need to be prepared to say goodbye to something else. I've not long moved out of a studio flat and without buying anything new, managed to furnish a whole house with the stuff I already had. But it is a massive juggling jigsaw and not an easy one either.
