My fleece is currently being abused by the pigs spreading hay everywhere lol. Currently I just use a tunnel and shove hay in there, toilet roll tubes, carrier sometimes, or just on the fleece itself on the last day before it's washed. Though, I really like seeing the fleece tidy. I would rather use a curved grid as a hay rack, but always nervous of the pigs getting stuck :( I'd use hay bags, but unsure if the pigs would get stuck. The hay trays at P@H seem too small, any ideas? Thanks

Thanks :) I found an old base of an old cage, I'll clean it up and try that but if it doesn't work out I'll take the dog bed idea

I use cat litter trays or the rabbit sized litter trays. I'm quite wary of hay racks and bags after seeing a few horror stories and I figured nothing can go wrong with hay trays other than a nice big mess.

I use a 32 litre underbed storage box with a side cut away one end of the cage and a poundland cat litter tray the other end.

Hay does spill out esp just next to the trays but its not too bad.

I also use an under bed storage box and cut out the side. I put the hay in with puppy pads underneath. This works well as although there is always some stray hay, it does seem to keep the majority of it in one place. Plus the girls love tunnelling and sleeping in it :D

I totally know what you mean about wanting the fleece hay free though (I am the same!)

The girls also have a hay bag, which they do use occasionally but definitely not as much as their hay tray. I put a little pad down under it and just shake off the hay when it gets messy.

Then another thing I use is a hay roller from Manor Pet housing (They usually get it the day before clean out day as it can get messy) probably not what you are looking for but hopefully it gives you some ideas :D

Thanks for the ideas :D very helpful

I'm going to try the old base, but is there a safe way to clean it? It's been in the shed for god knows how long and has a dead beetle attached to it among other things. I was thinking bleach but not sure how dangerous it would be for the pigs

I use Johnson's Pet Safe disinfectant on piggy things. I wouldn't use bleach, if I couldn't get hold of any specific small animal disinfectant I think I would use washing up liquid and rinse it very thoroughly afterwards. If it's got the white wee residue stuck on it soak with vinegar for a while and it will disolve.

Thanks, it's just that it's been out there for a while and I'm worried it won't be thoroughly disinfected
