Another post about woody! I have just been back to the vets for woody as a months long dose of baytril hasn't combatted his slight wheeze. Woody's only symptom is the little wheeze on his chest, he's eating fine (vet said he'd put on weight since the last visit a month ago!) The exotics vet at my practice has put him on a combination of Doxycycline and baytril, does anyone have any experience with this combination? I am going to give probiotics every dose 1-2 hours later but will it be worth giving some during the day too as I know that baytril sometimes messes with gut flora? Tia! ☺️

Hi!

I am very sorry about the ongoing issue.

You can pick up any thread of yours that deals with with the same ongoing issue via the 'Find Thread/Your Threads' button on the top bar. To help keep all the information together for better support of your piggy. Keep in mind that we are jumping between lots of different threads every day and may not remember the back story so you may end up with just a repeat of what has already been said. Unlike social media, this forum is not run on the number of posts you make and likes you get and there are no underlying parameters; everybody is on here is treated the same and we are free to run the forum to the upmost benefit of those who need longer term support and not just a quick hip-shot answer to a question. ;)

You can add more probiotic but I would also recommend to order some recovery formula so you are able to step in with feeding support if needed, as doxycycline can knock the digestive bacteria in the gut even more than baytril.

All the best!
