Junior Guinea Pig
Hi,
After a vet consultation on Monday, the vet thought that the dry crusty skin on my pigs backs and in one of their ears was most likely some kind of fungal infection after the mites treatment they prescribed last time didn't work. They prescribed an ointment that seems to be working. The problem is, my guinea pigs are not huge fans of being picked up and handled. They tolerate it, but not quite for long enough for me to comb through and get rid of any loose flakes and apply the cream. Does anyone have any tips on making this easier?
Also in terms of hygine, i am using gloves when handling and am using newspaper on the base of the cage so i can change it daily and clean down
the correx ( I also replaced this after i spoke to the vet) I'm using the johnsons disinfectant at the minute as my F10 is in the post. I just feel bad as I had to throw out all their toys as they were wooden and it's too hot at the minute for plastic toys. I'm using vegetable washing lines ect. But was just wondering if there was I was just wondering if i could do anything else to help them?⁸
