I know that boar bonding and dominance issues are a v common topic and that there is lots of ** info in the sticky thread. However I am still finding it hard to decide whether to split up my young boars. Can anyone give me some clues please?:)

At 6 weeks old when the boars arrived here they had a fight leading to ear biting but since then things have settled down. But I am still worried by
1) Sudoku is still evicted from the bedroom area a lot - even the addition of wooden hideys has not changed this:{
2) Sudoku has 5 bite marks on his ears - 1 significant one from that first fight but 4 other very small ones too:(

My instinct is that things are calming down and they are only 9 weeks old so I don't really want to separate them. Other behaviour seems fine and they are growing well. But is 5 bite marks unacceptable?:(

I heard that herds of more than 2 boars are notoriously difficult to settle. I think when they're getting hurt (which Sudoku probably is with getting his ear bitten), it's time to seperate. Sudoku sounds like a mellow, shy chappy, so maybe pair him with one of the more outgoing boars and then the other two can live together. FWIW, my 2 boars have been having dominance issues, but never hurting each other, just rumblestrutting and pushing each others head out of the way when they're feeding from their bowl, even though they have 2, one each. Silly sausages! They are aged 4 months and 6 months and it's starting to calm down now after just over a month living together.

Think I have confused people by using 4 instead of for in the title:{
