Hi, I'm new here so bare with me..
I have two female pigs, I adopted them about 8 months ago and they're around 2 years old.
Toast was a very shy and nervous piggy at first, but after months of trying to bond she's came out of her shell quite a bit. Still a nervous girl but much less anxious than she used to be. Up until about 2 weeks ago, Beans was very confident and adventurous. She had no issues coming right up to me and didn't mind being held and petted. However, around 2 weeks ago, her behaviour changed. She doesn't seem to want to be petted and it's a struggle to try catch her to hold her. Her eating habits haven't changed at all, and she's still running about the cage and interacting with Toast just fine, but she doesn't seem to like human interaction anymore, despite seeming to love it before. She squeeks and her ears go red when I try, so I'm quite worried about her, just want to make sure she's still a happy pig. They have a 6ft by 3ft cage so space definitely isn't an issue..

Have you checked her for mange mates? One of the first signs is not wanting to be touched because of the painful skin. Please do not treat on spec with a low dosed pet shop product, as you could easily make things worse.

Otherwise, there is either something that has badly spooked her or is hurting her, but it is very difficult to tell. You might want to see a vet for a check-up to be on the safe side in case there is a medical reason for the change in behaviour.

Hey!
Take her to the vet and see if anything might be wrong with her. She might be in pain when you hold her. She also might be in season-they normally get quite grouchy then. I would take her to the vet to make sure she hasn't got any internal problems :)
Hope this helps, Emma x
