I have had to put my 5week old boar on his own for a bit and he is very lonely and cries alot on his own!

Is there anyway I can make him feel better!

I have no choice but to leave him like this for a few days! And I feel terrible leaving him like this! 8...

Any suggestions would be great! x

Why do you have to leave him on his own?
If you have other pigs, put his cage next to another so that he will feel safe and can chat through the cage bars :)

I have his mam and sister together and his dad on his own too.

The older boar is quite agressive towards him and isnt well at the moment so I'm not going to try to put them back together until he is better.

Until then he is on his own :(

he seems to get worse when he can hear the others

I have this problem too, as I can't put my bereaved 6 month old boar with my other two males (believe me, I have tried) as they fight until the fur flies. He's just been neutered so that I can put him with new sows, but until the four week period is up, he's on his own. I have filled his cage with as many interesting hidey holes as possible, including a fleece tunnel and cosy and a table thingy which he can hide under. I have a small fiddlestix in there as well, and his hay goes on top of the gap between that and the table thingy. This gives him a way of moving around while hidden and getting his hay through the cracks. The snuggle sack is one that has been used by the other two, and he goes and lies on or in it, and seems a bit happier when he can smell other guineas close to him. I've also moved him into a cage in the busy part of the house so that he gets plenty of background noise and lots of attention. He is crying a bit less now, but it's still going to be a long four weeks...

Hi i'm sorry to hear about your situation.......it's so difficult to come up with solutions immediately !
Try your little one with a soft cuddly toy, actually put the toy in his cage and rub a bit of hay and drape some parsley or a little treat on the teddy so he'll come and sniff it, he may like having a cuddle with the toy too.
Be careful about eyes or anything he could chew off tho mallethead
Give him some extra cuddles too xoxoxoxoxoxo

I put a little bear in with him and he's snuggled up with it now! :)

He isn't as bad, but still when he hears the others he cries!

My cat has an eye infection at the moment so I dont wan't to put him in another room just incase! (my cat is afraid of my guinea pigs :)) ) but he does sit beside there hutch!

I'm going to go and get him some more toys today and see how he gets on!

I hope he won't be too bad,I feel so sorry for him when he's all upset! :(

Thanks for the help! x
