Buttercup has seriously got out of the wrong side of the nest box today! She has spent all day terrorising Daisy - following her around rumbling and wiggling her bottom, she takes offence if Daisy is in the shared nest box, eating, drinking, going up the ramp, going down the ramp, in the hay, not in the hay....... Just generally! Buttercup is also strutting about the cage rumbling at everything (including the water bottle......) she is in one heck of a mood!

Daisy doesn't seem too fazed, ignores Buttercup, might butt her head out of the way, have a little complain, have a little lunge at her, but isn't distressed and there hasn't been any visible nips or squeals or any other fighting. I've picked Buttercup up and she behaved for a cuddle, she doesn't seem to have anything wrong with her that could be upsetting her. Daisy isn't helping by persisting in putting herself in Buttercup's way, waving her bum in Buttercup's face, bashing her with her bum, generally winding her up!

Either way, all this drama isn't getting Buttercup very far, and Daisy can often be seen reclining happily in the nest box while Buttercup sits outside it....... Buttercup likes to think she is the dominant pig, and Daisy doesn't challenge her, but still seems to get her own way most of the time.

What could be causing all this tension? Could Buttercup be in season? She is 5months old
