Ive been looking at alot of house pics on here and noticed some have a flat slab of stone or something that looks like that in them.

What is it? and do my boys need one?

I really want to provide the most healthy environment i can for them

ooh i should add it doesnt look like those mineral chew stones

it was on the floor

i wondered if it was to help with nails x

It is mainly for the nails. You can also use blocks around the pellet bowl to help you piggies keep their nails naturally short.

Although I'm not certain, I think you can use pretty much any stone (part of a paving stone or breeze block for example) as long as the edges aren't sharp ;)

I've been wondering what kinds of stones/tiles etc was safe to use for this purpose also. I see my question has been answered. I have a few breeze blocks lying around but fancy something a bit flatter and not so heavy tbh.
