Sticks

Hi so I have seen that you are supposed to give your guinea pigs sticks to help their teeth to not overgrow so I have bought them some apple sticks but I don't know how often I should give them these any ideas? Thanks

Hello, hay should be fine, they may not bother with sticks, mine don’t have any,

Hay and fresh grass are the only things that work on the teeth properly. The molars at the back of the mouth need the hay and grass to wear properly.
You can give apple sticks occasionally but they obviously don’t work on the molars so they are more for fun.
Mine get the odd apple twig when I’ve pruned my trees. They are safe for them to have
