Depends on how bad, I have been known to use a sander followed by bleach and a metal spatula for further scraping if needed if I know the hutch isnt going to be used for a good while. Also a good rinse with the hose on the thick spray helps too. Jeyes fluid is another I use... just whatever is on hand followed by a good rinse with the hose and its painted over anyway which seals anything in anyway.@Bekki what do you use to scrub with? I must admit I use whatever is to hand, washing up liquid, diluted bleach or Jeyes Fluid if its from unknown origin. I do wash and rinse very very well though.
ouch .. what is that hutch made of :S even my cheapo hutches have never done that :-( poor bunny ... I'm sure you'll make it an awesome hutch thoughI need to put a new floor in a 5ft two tier hutch (I was given it) this weekend! It collapsed with a bunny in it! Not my bunny I hasten to add.
Are you happy to use Cuprinol? I made enquiries and was advised not to use Cuprinol for pet hutches as it contains a fungicide.Oh thats nothing! A good scrub with a stiff brush and whatever you use to clean your hutches with disinfectant or soap wise and then repaint with something like Cuprinol garden shades or the wilko's alternative x
It is widely used by rabbit owners for hutches, sure it states pet safe once dry on it?Are you happy to use Cuprinol? I made enquiries and was advised not to use Cuprinol for pet hutches as it contains a fungicide.
