Okay so I have been trying to find a better way for all of my piggies to get the space that they need for their cages. I really like the idea of the stacked c and c. I've attached a photo that is pretty much what I want to do. There is a corner in the room where I keep the cage right now and it is 3x4 which isn't enough for 4 pigs. If I make the cages in the corner they will be each 2x6 cages (two levels) with two pigs in each. There won't be any ramps, the pigs will be separate as two's. What do you think? They'll have the 2x6 space but is the corner going to be a problem? It won't be a straight 6 feet. I let them out in the room for exercise every day together. Let me know what you think. If I have to, I think I could work on a 3x6 shape as well.

Actually these are more what I want. I wanted the open area in between the cages rather than the swing down doors. Keep in mind that they will still be an L shape in a corner. I tried it today and they are surprisingly sturdy with just sides and rear grids.

I'm making up their new cage today! I'm more excited than they are! I even found some coroplast after looking for AGES, I found it in the hardware store. Typical me. Always doing things the hard way! lol

Hi, I've never built a corner c&c so I can't comment on that but I have had stacked bunk bed style similar to the 2nd and 3rd photos and you're right they were sturdy enough for me and the piggies but I'm not sure that I'd feel confident of them standing up to young children clambering about!
:) Looking forward to seeing pictures when you've finished building as I am re thinking my c&c designs [due to changing piggy no's].

The only problem with the corner is that you may find a bit difficult to rach into the furthest corner; it doesn;t make any difference for the piggies. The adaptability is the real advantage for C&C cages!

I ended up going with straight 2x4 cages- one on top of the other. The pigs seem happy! They're all running about in their playpen now! Except for baby Vixen who discovered that she can just go right through the bars! I was certain she couldn't fit! Apparently I was wrong lol! Have to wait a few more months until she's wide enough to stay in ;)
