Hi,

We have noticed a few times when our young sow pee’s she sometimes squeak’s. She is a very vocal piggie so unsure if it is uncomfortable when she’s peeing or just being her vocal self, so unsure if it’s a possible UTI. She is eating, drinking, going to the toilet fine and zooming around.

Thanks
Simon

It would be worth popping her along to the vet to have her urine checked for possible infection

Is there any signs that we should be looking for if she does have a UTI?

Pain/squeaking when peeing, sometimes visible blood in the urine but not always, wet fur around the back end, strong smelling urine
Keep up with her routine weight checks to monitor her hay intake, stepping in with support feeding if necessary

Took her to the vets today. Vet said couldn’t see or feel anything unusual but said it could be a UTI or gal stones at worst. She has been given painkiller for a week to see if that helps. If it was a suspected UTI should she have been given antibiotics as well.

Yes a UTI requires antibiotics. If there is any infection, she won’t get better without them.
Testing urine and treating for a UTI would be a normal first step. If that doesn’t deal with the issue, a scan/x ray for bladder stones would be next.

Will call vets tomorrow and reiterate this as I would it was odd not being given antibiotics if they are trying to rule out a UTI.
