AnniesMama83
New Born Pup
Hi, everyone!
I am new here and from the United States, but I was hoping you could offer some insight into my problem with my guinea pig as it's holiday weekend and I am not sure what to do. Annie is my 2-year-old female. I noticed, recently, that she started pooping lying down and doing a "rocking" motion with her butt in the air. However, she wasn't showing signs that she was in pain. Up until this, she would bend over and pull her poops out (coprophagia), but now she's lying down, so I assume since the vitamin poos are soft, she's having trouble passing them without pulling them out. Not sure why she started this.
Anyway, today, I heard her squeaking while pooping. She is eating and drinking like normal. Her poops, however, appear to be larger in size than usual. Is this a gut issue or should I be worried about bladder stones? I scheduled a vet appointment online but the soonest they have available is Thursday afternoon (I'll call to be sure either tomorrow or Tuesday if they are closed for Memorial Day).
